Newbie to Real Esate in Las Vegas

Greetings all,

I am excited to finally dive into the Bigger Pockets Community as I begin this journey into Real Estate Investing.

My name is Maxwell Pickens and I am a newbie to Real Estate Investing and Las Vegas for that matter. My fiance and I drove across country about 1.5 yrs ago from Cleveland, Ohio. I am a 3rd Grade teacher here in Vegas and I absolutely love my job and being able to help the youth. Although a downside to my profession is the lack of desired income that comes with it. Thus, I have turned to Real Estate, with the hopes of one day retiring early and being able to spend more time with my future wife and children. I am possibly looking into getting an FHA with multi-units and tenants. Live there for a year and continue to purchase more properties. Any thoughts for a first time/new REI?

I have read many of the Bigger Pocket books among others, listened to podcasts, and participated in webinars. Moving forward, I would like to reach out to you all, particularly REI's in Las Vegas and Cleveland for any advice, guidance, and support. Possibly, any meet and greets would be great as well. Again, I am excited to be apart of this community and eager to get started. Thank and talk to you all soon... MAX.
