Member Intro. Seeking advice.

Hello BP members. I'm Tim, I am a military man currently in GA by way of Queens NY. My interest in REI is to at least supplement my retirement pension in the future and to have something of my own to grow.

I bought a house in 2009 using the VA guarantee. The house is now rented through a PM and has been so since 2013. That is the extent of my REI experience.

I am seeking advice. I need a route to take that I can use to break into the market. Given that I am carrying heavy debt but still holding a 600 credit score. Without my debts, I would have $2500 available each month. Can I find a deal that will payoff my debts and secure a good future?

Before you start getting further into REI, I advise you fix your personal finance situation. You’re in debt and want to invest? Doesn’t make much sense to me.
