Newbie Member from NE Dallas Texas

Hi Everyone,

I am Harris Dy, 40 years old from northeast Dallas Texas. Became an immigrant 4 years ago... spent 2 years in Forest Grove, Oregon and moved here in Dallas a year and a half ago for a job. 17 years experience in electronics manufacturing but zero experience in real estate. Read the book "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" back in 2016 followed by so many other self-help books which convinced me that I needed to get out of the rat race. Towards end of 2016, I set a goal for 2017 to save $50K for real estate investing so I took a part time job + selling on ebay... really worked hard, but only reached half my goal because of my other financial responsibilities. This year, I would like to really focus on learning real estate as much as I can, network with real estate-minded people, hopefully find mentors, and make my first deal (Small Multi-Family with intent to House Hack as I am renting right now). I came across Biggerpockets on Youtube back in 2016 when I was researching for paths to financial freedom and now I returned as a member.
