Real Estate Investing in Spokane Washington Area

Hello my name is Ray, I work for a fire department in Southern California but would like to start investing in real estate.  I am very interested in the Spokane Washington area. Is this a good area to invest for a new investor?

I will be taking a trip to the Spokane Washington area this June and would like to find a good real estate agent in the area to look at a possible retirement home and investment opportunities.  Does anyone have any suggestions for an agent in that area that could help me out?

Thank you,

Ray

@Ray Gawk

I am a beginning investor. I chose Spokane because I grew up there, still have family there, and the returns are much better than what I can get where I live now. I started 14 months ago and recently closed on my 6th deal. I bought SFHs between $90K and $130K in B neighborhoods. Every house was listed on MLS, half were foreclosures. All were in decent condition, some ready to go. They all rent for right around 1% of the purchase price per month and finding good tenants has been easy. I have a local property manager, but I still travel there frequently to do work on the homes myself.

Probably there are cities back east that will give better returns, but if you want to invest on the west coast, then Spokane is definitely viable. I researched only Spokane and P0rtland.
