Aspiring Real Estate Investor Ready For Action

Hello,

My name is Tyrell Yorke. I was born in New York and raised in Southern California. I earned my bachelors degree in aerospace science engineering at Tuskegee University in Alabama where I met my wonderful wife, Chloe. Currently, I am a supply officer in the US Navy and I just  moved to Rhode Island.

I have been interested in real estate for quite some time until recently I have decided to educate myself on the matter. Before taking that initiative I went to a real estate seminar where my wife and I were almost enrolled in classes costing $30k.  Thankfully, a friend of mine told me about Bigger Pockets which offers similar services for close to nothing. 

As of right now, I am in the educational phase of real estate investing by reading books (from Bigger Pockets reading list) and watching videos on different strategies (Also, from Bigger Pockets). In 5 years, I see myself with 1-2 multi-families with at least 6-8 doors generating about $200 or more per door. After this, the next 15-20 years would be repeating the process by gaining more multi-families and apartments. End goal is 94-100 doors. During this process I want to learn how to invest in notes.

@Tyrell Yorke welcome. You would learn more about real estate if you lost $30K by doing an actual real estate deal. There are too many free resources to pay $30K, but that is not to say there are not some good programs out there for less.
