Hello from Dexter, MI (near Ann Arbor)
Hello everyone,
I'm Matt and I'm from Dexter, MI right beside Ann Arbor. I'm looking to get involved in real estate in this area or possibly around Toledo, OH. Dexter has been one of the fastest growing cities in Michigan for the past 10 years. Given the combination of growth, pricing, and overall location, it seems like a good time and good area to get involved in real estate.
I'm new to REI. Over the years, my interest in getting involved in real estate has continued to grow. I'm attracted to the idea of figuring out how to make deals happen. Now it's time for me to start getting involved.
I haven't yet completely identified my primary strategy. I'm inclined toward buy and hold rentals, particularly multi-family properties. My wife, who has design skills, likes the idea of flips more :)
In any case, I'm looking forward to connecting with people. learning, and making progress. I love connecting with people.

Hi @Matt Gibson,
Welcome to BiggerPockets! I’m right around the corner from you, in fact I had breakfast last weekend at the Riverside Cafe (great breakfast). Dexter is a fantastic area, but depending on the direction you choose, may have challenges for you, i.e. fix/flip vs. buy/hold. I see the immediate area (Dexter, Ann Arbor, most of Washtenaw County) more as fix/flip.
