Hello from Austin, TX

I'm a newbie investor in Austin, with the possibility of moving to NYC. I love it here, but the girlfriend loves it there, and she doesn't think that Rock, Paper, Scissors is a good way to decide!

I'm mostly interested in short sales and wholesaling, but I'm willing to adapt to what the market demands. If anyone wants a hard working JV, please PM me. I'm always willing to work for knowledge.

Welcome to BP Derek. For what it's worth, I'd much rather start out real estate investing in Austin rather than NYC. Maybe when she sees how much house the same money will buy in each city, she will see the light.

Welcome to Bigger Pockets. How about a high card draw or a simple coin toss? I pick Austin also over the Big Apple cost of living. However, I am seeing many request to fund short sales from investors in NYC. Be happy first, then make it happen wherever you happen to be living.
Best Wishes,

Austin is a great location for investing. I have been living here for close to 3 years now and have enjoyed the success I have due to surrounding myself with others who are passionate about real estate as well. Connect with me through e-mail and I can let you know about some of the better networking events in town!
