New Investor In Middle Tennessee

Hey guys - A little about me - Originally from Michigan, lived in south Florida for awhile and I have been in Middle Tennessee for just over 20 years now. I am certainly guilty of falling into the status quo by going to school, getting a job, setting up my 401(k) and dreaming of something greater. I have always had some entrepreneur in me as I have always searched for that one thing I'm great at. I tried numerous different ideas and businesses. Some worked but never showed potential for what I really wanted. I got my first introduction to real estate in my early teens when my dad began buying properties, fixing them up and renting them. I enjoyed the process of rehabbing properties, however, I didn't know it was something I could do. I grew up in an analysis paralysis type of mindset. Research everything, prepare for everything, get a job and save as much as possible etc etc. Fast forward years later and I don't know how many books and podcasts, but, I realized I didn't know everything I didn't know. Now I'm aware of a lot and know exactly what I want. I'm a strong believer that if you don't build your dreams now, someone will hire you to build theirs! The game plan - start with wholesaling, move towards prehabbing and rehabbing, own residential rental properties and eventually commercial investments. My 5 year plan is to be a full time REI by the end of 2018, be personally debt free and own 6 rental properties by the end of 2019, and own 10 rental properties free and clear by 2022 My goal with bigger pockets - I'm searching for mentors, advice and any general input with what else is available and eventually be able to help others once i have some marks on my belt. I have learned a tremendous amount and have a little experience but I have a long way to go. Any advice or input is greatly appreciated. I may be new but if I can ever be of help in anyway, I'd be happy to lend a hand

I'm just diving in to start. I don't want to over plan and just spin my wheels. Also, even though I will be investing, I don't really have a "business" per se, so until I own some properties for cash flow, I plan on working with my attorney and CPA to discuss tax strategies and what type of business to set up. LLC is great for asset protection but the tax advantages are lacking. I want to set up the back end that will benefit my company plans in the long run.
