South Philly Area - New to Real Estate Investing

Hey Everyone, I just joined the biggerpockets site a few days ago after a recommendation from a friend. Although I am new to the site, I have been researching and absorbing as much knowledge as possible for the past 6 months or so. Little bit about myself: I have a financial/banking sector background of over 7 years. Although I love my job, my interests and family goals have shifted my attention and long-term plan. I am looking to get started with real estate buying and holding long-term. I have a colleague who currently does this strategy (to success), but he focuses on areas slightly out of my focus. I would love to build some connections/relationships to absorb more, as well as understand he Philly/South Philly suburbs market more. I am open to talking to anyone who is willing and/or grab some coffee with. If you're interested, please let me know and would love to connect. Thanks, Brett

Hey @Brett Greer welcome to Biggerpockets. Lots of great investors in the Philly area and good networking events that I'd highly recommend. DIG (Diversified Investors Group) is a great one to start with. There are many others, I suggest checking out Meetup.com to find some that interest you. Hope to see you around! Feel free to shoot me a message to chat.
