New to real estate in Chicago

Hello Everyone, my name is Leo. I just graduated from college and during my days as a student I became interested in real estate investing. I am looking into the Chicago multifamily market and would love to hear your ideas on different ways I can go about closing my first deal. A little about my current situation - I don't have much money to invest, however, I am eligible for a VA loan and have a business partner with about $ 35 000 in home equity readily available. What neighborhoods that cashflow would you recommend I start looking into? Would house hacking be a good or bad idea?

Hello @Leo Guerrero, in my opinion, house hacking sounds like it would make a lot of sense for you right now. Now is the perfect time to do it, it will get your foot into the door.
