OKC Area (Guthrie) Newbie Member Introduction

Hello all. My name is Mike. I am a new investor in the OKC area. I have a contract on my first rental property in Guthrie. Closing is scheduled for 8/4. Trying to soak up as much info as I can before closing. I'd be interested in hearing how important it is to hire an attorney to review the lease agreement. Also, where the best source for a lease template would be. If I need an attorney, would it be best to enroll in a prepaid legal plan, or pay for services like this individually? As this is my first time I'm trying to be cautious to make sure this thing is going to cash flow before tacking on additional, and possibly unnecessary, expenses. For starters I am going to manage this single property myself. If I grow my portfolio I may outsource that. I found the podcast and I've been listening there.  Looks like there is a huge wealth of information on this site.

there is a lease that the real estate commission has on their site you could adapt and use, i think just about anyone can download it.  it is pretty good, better than the first one i ever used.  I would also bet quite a few lawyers have already reviewed it.  lol
