Newbie from The "Boogie Down" Bronx, New York

Hello all! I am a full time mariner by trade and the experience I have in real estate has come from finding and renting my apartment, so not too much! I came to Bigger Pockets by way of intense researching on Google and YouTube for the past few months. I then read " The Beginner's Guide to Real Estate Investing", which was a page turner but also every enlightening! I have also started to listen to the podcast any chance I get! It's like no matter how much of information I can here about real estate in a day I still want more! My long term goal is to build a rental property empire that I can generate long term wealth from. My more immediate goal is to purchase my first property by Dec. 2017, if not sooner! I would love to invest in my home state and better yet my city but that market just seems way out of my budget. I am however interested in purchasing in these following markets: Mt. Vernon, NY, the Great Lakes, Camden and Trenton, NJ, Pa, DE, and MD. Yes I know this seems like a lot. Which is why I am here to get guidance and some assistance in reigning in my over zealousness! I am very eager and ready to learn! So please keep Ana eye for my questions as I will have a lot!
