Active duty Newbie from NYC

Hello Everyone!

My name is Maya and I am a total Newbie. Originally from NYC, I am Active Duty Navy and will be transferring to Norfolk, VA in the next 9 months. My initial plan when I transferred was to buy a house to live in with my partner. However, the idea of real estate investing has really been haunting me for over a year now and I'm ready to take the first step. Being in the military, I've really grown to be obsessed with the idea of financial freedom. I think the military is great however, it provides a security blanket that I feel I need to get out from under. I don't want to be the typical Veteran living off of a pension. I also don't want to work for anybody after my time is up. And that's why I'm here! I'm very optimistic that I'm going to gain a lot of knowledge through this site that's going to help me in my future investments!
