New Investor in Northwest Florida

Hey everybody! I've been a member on BP for the past six months or so, but finally decided to make a point of getting my profile all setup and jump into the forums. I'm originally from upstate New York (Syracuse area), but I joined the Air Force a little over five years ago and was stationed down around the Fort Walton Beach, Florida area. I'm currently still in the area and on active duty. After I returned from a recent deployment I purchased two rental properties and currently have one rented out and am living in the other while I fix it up. I have put a lot of sweat equity into both properties, but unfortunately my social "life" has suffered to say the least haha. I am looking forward to connecting with other investors around my area as I embark on this journey towards becoming financially free!

@John Powell @Tyler Austin @Arianne L. Thanks for the warm welcome! I will definitely try to make the next meetup. I currently have a vacation to Australia booked for June 5th through the 18th, hopefully I'm fully recovered from the jet lag by the time the 20th comes along. Currently I'm in the market looking for another house/town home in the area. I am taking the BRRR approach towards investing as of now and plan am living in the property while I fix it up. It may sound crazy, but I've lived in much worse conditions overseas haha. I'm just finishing up my second property that I'm living in, but should be done by the end of June/early July, so hopefully I will have another property by that time. As of now I am looking to fund a deal utilizing conventional investment financing or hard money. I'm pretty well versed in rehabbing homes so I may venture into a flip in the future. I love the idea of being able to add value utilizing sweat equity. I'm not afraid to get in the trenches and swing a hammer per se haha... I'll upload the before and after pictures of my first rental unit I completely remodeled later today, let me know what you think!
