New SoCal flipper with some renovation experience

I am a "new flipper" in San Diego county.  My wife and I have some experience doing house renovations.  Primarily on our own home 5 years ago, but recently we took 2 months to renovate an inherited family property that had been rented for 10 years.  No major remodeling, but lots of refreshing and updating to bring the home back to life.  We were very pleased and enjoyed the process even though it can get stressful trying to make everything happen quickly while still working a full-time job.

My goal is to flip houses periodically on the side to increase my renovation skill set and earn extra money.  If it goes well I hope it could eventually become a full-time gig.

I feel that my biggest area for learning is in how to identify good deals for new flips.  The last property we renovated was inherited so we did not actively purchase it for a flip, we simply decided to renovate so that we could make more money on the sale.
