New Highly Motivated Investor in Oak Park, Sacramento Nor Cal
Hello BP Family!
My name is Jarrett McAllister and I wanted to introduce myself to this amazing community I stumbled upon :)
I am 32 years old with a wife and 2 beautiful daughters (8 year old and 9 month old) and just last year we bought our first owner occupied investment home here in the Oak Park district of Sacramento, CA.
An entrepreneur by heart, I own my company, 15 years in the Alarm/Home Automation Industry but have always had a dream and desire to own homes in different parts of the country / world. AirBNB them out and jetset between the locations with my family throughout the year. Not a bad lifestyle. Oh yeah, and do it all with OPM!
Inspired by reading "CashFlow Quadrant" I recently I attended a real estate investing seminar. It happened to be Than Merrill's 2 hour sales pitch and yes at the end of it I signed up for his 3 day course. $197 for 3 days of real estate insider information? That's a no brainer!
Immediately after signing up for the course I started to do my due diligence (googling) and quickly realized that I'm in for a 3 day sales pitch for his $35,000 "Masters Course" And where I could see how one might justify the cost, that's just not gonna happen. With that said though I decided I would do as much research and learning as I could until the three day seminar, go through with it, take as much positive info as I can get from it and apply some of the techniques to my investment strategies.
Well all this researching has lead me to the Bigger Pockets forum and honestly, I could not be happier! I feel like I found my tribe :)
Since then I have read BT's "How to invest with no or little downpayment" (can I call him BT? feel like we just met) Listened to 5 or 6 podcast, ordered a few more books and have been reading the BP forums like crazy. You could say I have a new addiction.
Success is all about taking action so I figured I would take the first steps and introduce myself to the BP crew. Any and all advice is welcome and would love to connect with like minded individuals in my area.
Cheers,
Jarrett McAllister
