New to real estate investing

Hello, I am new to real estate investing. I have a tech support background and am honestly bored from it after 11 years. I have done a lot of research on real estate investing and still have a lot to learn. I have been to a couple seminars and a Renautus meeting, which they all lead to paying for further education and mentors. I honestly feel in my heart this is what I would like to do but do not know where to start besides researching as much as I can and making sure I have my short term and long term goals.

I want to start off with wholesaling because it seems like the best way to go for someone who doesn't have the best of credit and no financing to start with (even though from what I have read, it may not be the best to start from.) I have read the information analysis paralysis article and do not want to get stuck and not take action.

I guess my biggest question is, what got you past the information overload and made you just jump into the investing world? Is it best to get a real estate license first? Is it best to find funding first? Should I visit a REI club first? I am just having trouble figuring out where to start so any help or suggestions would be great. Thank you
