Hello BP! I've just joined and am already so grateful for the generosity and wisdom of this community. We recently moved from Athens, GA to Urbana and are looking for our primary residence. Since I left my old job to move here (my wife is at the university), this seemed like a good opportunity to explore REI, something I'd thought a lot about but never been in a position to get into.

I've already been digging into the wealth of resources here. I'd like to do some combination of fix and holds with fix and flips and possibly get into some multi family properties. But mostly I'm looking to learn and find that first deal to get started.

Find some local REIAs also.  They have quite a few along with the BP meetups going on in Chicago. But I can't believe you left Athens!  Hope it doesn't get too cold up there. I am sure you will be able to dive in and begin investing in no time.  Take action and keep taking more action.
