New Bigger Pockets member in Madison, Wisconsin

Hello BP community!

I am a new member within Bigger Pockets who is interested in buy and hold properties.  My short term goal is to start out with a duplex, rent one side and live in the other.  Long term goal would be to own a few duplexes/single family homes and add the cash flow to retirement savings.

Currently I am an engineer within the manufacturing industry by day, looking to get into real estate on the side.  I first heard of bigger pockets by searching the Itunes podcast library in search of investing.  Since I have a fairly lengthy drive to work each day (1hr 10min) one way, I figured I might as well listen to something constructive.  I listened to one episode and became hooked.  I now listen to the Bigger Pockets podcast every day. I think i'm on episode 55 or 56 and each episode makes my mind race with ideas.  After listening for awhile I finally decided to sign up and introduce myself to the BP community!

I look forward to connecting with many of you and i'm excited to see what the future will bring!

I personally liked show 197 but I may be a little bias ;) I recommend checking out the Madison REIA meeting this upcoming January. There are about 60-70 people there each much to network with, a lot of them are also just starting out looking for answers. https://www.madisonreia.com/
