Putting an end to my rat race...

Greetings BP, My name is Kadeem and I am a physical therapist working in NYC. I stubbled upon BP after looking up ways to invest my money. Reading Rich Dad Poor Dad for the first time at 26 made me realize I could be suck in rat race trying to achieve financial stability from just my J-O-B! Being a physical therapist is cool and all with great job security and decent pay but one day I asked myself... "can I work this job until I retire at 65?" (The answer is NO!) Plus over 150k in student loans doesn't help. Bottomline something else needs to supplement what I do as a therapist for financial stability. That is my WHY for coming on to BP forum, listening to the podcast religiously and reading the books to learn the basics of real estate investing. Excited to learn more and meet great people along the way!!!

Keep your day job, you can do both, and rather than escape the rat race simply learn to enjoy it more while investing. Most people have the entire wrong idea and approach to working. It should never be a race. A job is nothing more than an exchange of time for money. If you can I highly recommend working and investing.

Change your thinking about work and your life will change entirely. Instead of escaping simply plan to retire at 50 or 55. The income will make investing far easier.
