Hello all, my name is Mark.  I have been investing for about twenty five years, but never real estate investing.  While I have felt I could take some risk in the stock market, I often felt real estate investing was too risky for me.  I am an IT professional and am ex military.  A coworker introduced me to this site and I am hoping to gain some fantastic knowledge here.

Another barrier I have always had towards real estate investing is that I not much of a handyman at all.  As I would need to hire people to perform most any repairs or upgrades on rental properties I was concerned I could get in over my head rather quickly.

@Mark Wintch  welcome to BP!  I just got started investing in real estate in May.  It was a huge jump but something that is proving to be the best decision for my family and our finances.  Lots of great resources on BP and at the meeting Kim mentioned.
