Farmer and prospective investor in Washington, DC

Hey everyone! My wife and I currently live in Washington, DC and are looking to find a great property to house hack. We're mainly looking in the Montgomery County, Maryland area and are ideally looking for a single family home that's been converted to a basement apartment.

I am currently trying to read up as much as possible about permitting and occupancy to make sure I'm following all the laws for the requirements for a basement apartment and any info would be appreciated! We're getting close to making an offer on 3 homes in Montgomery County but if you have any leads or opportunities you'd like to share, I'd be very grateful!

Thanks everyone!
