Newbie From Rochester NY

Hello people!!

My name is Enyi and i am new to the biggerpocket community. I will try to summarize my story. I relocated to the US in winter period of April of 2015 though my wife has been here for a while. I was fortunate to get a good paying job in the later year 2015. My wife and i have been saving to buy a multifamily here in Rochester NY and i would say we are counting down to viewing our 100th house, fired one realtor and hired another, made offers and have been rejected, the most recent which almost got us down as we had the highest offer but the seller went for a cash down payment but we are still searching (may i add we having been searching for over 6 months now). Do you think that is too long a time to look for a multifamily?

I came across BP after listening to an interview of @PaulaPants  on the Radical Personal Finance Podcast by Joshua Sheats and i have been blown away. i come from a country where real estate is a big form of investing but i have come to realize that its totally different from what is going on here in the states.

I having been listening to the podcast, doing my own research and trying to get a hang of how things work. Because my wife and i have a full time job we believe multi family would be a good starting point as we plan on being buy and hold investors but i am also interested in notes, wholesaling and flipping.

I would really love to network with anyone newbie like me or anyone who has been in the industry in the Rochester NY area. @MikeSherwood if your still in Buffalo and @TomSylvester if your still in Rochester.
