New Member from Ocean/Monmouth County New Jersey

Hello BiggerPockets Community,

My name is Kurt Batocabe, I am 22 years old and from Brick, New Jersey.  I am currently an engineer student but started going part time to get myself engaged in the real estate industry because I see much more potential in this business.  I am currently in the process of becoming a licensed real estate agent, just need to take the state exam.  I have been on biggerpockets for awhile reading articles and listening to podcasts but finally decided to get engaged with the community because I realized how important networking is especially with like minded individuals.

I want to start JV wholesaling with other wholesalers or flippers in the Ocean/Monmouth County area of New Jersey. I am still hesitant about the whole closing process of the deals so would love to just partner up with others to help the process. Also would like to work with other investors as an investor friendly real estate agent.

Also am looking for BiggerPocket/REIA meet ups in the area to learn as much about the markets and exchange business cards and contact info with others!

Welcome to the BP community! You can find the REIAs  here and BP members often meetup as well. You can find yours here. Both are great places to connect with investors in person. My advice with be to learn how to land a deal and then go get your first one then to approach another investor to see if they're willing to split it with you in return for guiding you through the parts you need help on. It's hard to pass out helping someone up and making some money on it. All the best!
