Hello BP!

My fiance and I just moved to Renton WA from Southern CA. We are renting currently as we didn't have the money or experience to purchase from a distance. We are in the learn and save our money phase of our RE journey. First step for us will be to find a MFR to house hack in Pierce County. She works and attends UW, so that is probably the farthest we could go for her commute to be manageable. Plus that is an area we think we can afford.

I found a couple meetups in Bellevue that I will be attending and would love to go to more that I am not currently aware of. Possibly down in the Tacoma/Olympia area as well? I want to attend any and all meetups that I can to learn as much as possible about these markets. I've done some independent research on these markets, but nothing will be more valuable than speaking with successful investors in these areas.

Our goal is pretty simple. We want to get to financial freedom, so we can start a family. She won't graduate until she is 30 and will need to spend some time working before she would get any sort of maternity leave benefits (she is studying to be a professor). We both really want kids, but the timing of our careers isn't in our favor. We've identified real estate as our path to building the life we want together.

I've spent a lot of time and effort learning up to this point and have a long way to go. I look forward to chatting and potentially working together with many of you.

Best of luck,

Pete
