Brand new to the real estate game. IE-SoCal

Hello everyone.  My name is Jonno.  As stated in my subject heading, I'm brand new to real estate.  I live in and intend to invest in the inland empire area of Southern California.  Right now, I am in the learning stage.  Just trying to soak up as much of any knowledge as I can get my hands on.  Any recommended reading would be appreciated.  A notice of a local real estate investor gathering would be wonderful as well.  Looking forward to getting to know the BP site to see what all it has to offer.  Thanks so much for reading my intro.  Take care.

@Johnathan Kelsey Welcome to BP.  If you are new to real estate investing I also suggest you listen to the Bigger Pockets podcast. You can find it under the Education tab. Listen to all of them.

And since you're in Banning you can attend 2 different real estate investing club meetings.  One meets on the 4th Wednesday every month in Riverside at the Mission Inn Hotel and the other meets in Coachella (not sure when). You'll meet working investors and newbies at both. You can find them on meetup.com. I'm a regular at the Riverside meeting, never been to the Coachella meeting but the organizer, Andy Teasley, is a good guy and excellent teacher.  Both are great places to learn and network.
