Newbie in Tampa Bay area

Hello everyone, I am currently a professional Firefighter/Paramedic and after taking some classes about RE and thinking and planning I finally decided to make the first step in putting together my capital to start investing. I have my first little one on the way which is giving me more motivation to invest in my future for my family. 

I am interested in flipping houses to start with. I have basic knowledge of the business but the more I read the more I find I'm too new which is good because it gets me more interested in reading more.

If anyone in the Tampa bay area ever wants to meet up I am all ear to listen to any advise.

Welcome.  Yeah, flipping is a good place to start and you may find it is a good place to stay too.  It only took me 12 years to figure out that I enjoy flipping MUCH more than landlording.  Shoot me a connect request.  I live right by Citrus Park mall and have been thinking about starting up a meetup around here.  I did one in Chicago and they can be great networking.
