Newbie from Springfield, MO
I am inexperienced at real estate investing. My only previous attempt was crushed by the 2008 recession. My wife and I had built a custom home on acreage in 2004. We planned to live in it a few years, sell it and reinvest the profit in another custom build. Needless to say, that dream was dashed on the rocks of the recession. We barely got out before the entire ship when down.
However, I know too many wealthy people who own real estate as their primary vehicle for income and net worth. So, the idea of owning real estate as an investment has lingered in the recesses of my mind.
Then about a month ago, I serendipitously discovered Clayton Morris and his Investing in Real Estate podcast. His simple approach rekindled my interest in buy and hold real estate as a vehicle for wealth accumulation. I later discovered BiggerPockets when Clayton interviewed Brandon Turner.
My wife and I, plus four of our closest friends are interested in the BRRRR method for accumulating a portfolio of rental properties. We want to purchase our first property by the end of July. We have access to enough private funds to get our first property through BRR.
We need recommendations for a CPA in the Springfield area.
