Evening All, I am a current Sacramento, CA resident in the midst of parting ways with my current career and making the move to beautiful Denver, CO with my lovely girlfriend to hopefully put some roots in the ground. I'm 32 with a good career going in the solar industry, but with my girlfriend landing a great local job, I'm looking to explore a career in real estate while I have the opportunity, and will be parting ways with my current employer. Real estate has always been intriguing to me, which has always eaten me up a bit, not being able to devote more time to learning strategies, being more involved in the market, and ultimately investing. But with this rather large move coming up, I think now is the right time for me to make that leap. A few of the questions I had before diving in are below, and I greatly appreciate any feedback. 1. If there are any Denver Real Estate agents on this blog, would you recommend starting as an agent in the Denver market? And if so, are there any brokers you would recommend as a newby to the business? 2. Is working as an agent prior to investing recommended and/or necessary? 3. Are there any good events local to Denver that a rookie investor and/or agent would can get some good education and meet local industry professionals? Thanks again for any feedback! Cheers!

Welcome @Jason O'Neill!  I 2nd @Tripp Howell's comments.  I decided to get my license at age 32 this year and would be happy to provide feedback if you'd like to message me.  I moved to Denver in 07 and began investing in 09.  There are many blogs and forum posts here with good insight/debate about whether or not to get licensed.  Here is one from @Mindy Jensen that I thought was pretty informative when I began looking into it: Get Licensed?

Good luck!
