Looking To Move Into Property Management

Looking to learn about the opportunities available in real estate. I've had a long interest in real estate. I have some interest in property management, specifically in managing properties in trust.

After going down just that path, I 100% agree with @David Faulkner. We have our own units and ended up taking on clients that wanted boutique service-level property management. What isn't included in most people's considerations and calculations is time and overhead. It can be a tough business and definitely one that you will learn a lot. The option of staying small just isn't realistic. And if you go into it saying "It'll just be me until I get to 50 units," well then good luck. You're going to be busy. Your financial return on your time and investment, in my opinion, is much higher as a broker than a property manager.

We have since leaned in and have stuck with it because it's what we do, but if I were to do it all over again I would not have gone into property management. I'm available anytime if you want an candid insight into the good, the bad, and ugly of property management.
