Hi BPers,

Long time lurker here but now decided to make my intro to the community (hello everyone!) I'm living in Northern Virginia and ready to begin my journey to buy and hold real estate investing. Part of my hesitation for not posting here earlier was my fear of not knowing enough about real estate and just a general fear of entering into a new investment endeavor.

I'm currently educating myself by listening to the bigger pockets podcasts, reading the blog, setting up key word alerts for the area, and reading RE books that were recommended from this site. I'm always going to have the motivation to continue learning but I don't want to fall into the analysis paralysis trap.

My goal for real estate investing to have enough properties to allow me to retire early and have more time with my family. Due to lack of multifamily complexes, my plan is to invest in class b/c SFR in the DMV area and keep them long term. I'm also contemplating investing in Northwest Indiana as I'm originally from Chicago and still have family and friends in the area. I plan on purchasing my first rental by the end of the year or beginning of next year.

I hope to interact and meet with fellow BPers to build relationships and keep an open dialogue.

Thank you for taking your time and reading this post.

Fernando
