New Guy in New York

Hello,

My name is Evan Thomas, and I'm from Lancaster, PA. I went to school at Fordham, and now I live in NYC and work in White Plains, NY. I took one REI course at Fordham, but it didn't appeal to me at the time because I was pursuing jobs at the big Wall Street banks. I now work at PepsiCo as a finance analyst, and 10 months in I've decided that I don't want to work at a typical corporate finance job for my entire life. After listening to a dozen (so far) of the bigger pockets podcasts, I'd like to get into the real estate field. Here's the little that I've figured out so far: I have no money, I would like to get into sourcing deals (for a commission and to learn about the industry) or flipping as a path toward buy & hold down the road, and I would like to create a passive income stream to support myself while I find what I truly love to do (if it isn't REI and surfing).

The biggest challenge I'm facing is where to start learning in what appears to be a massive web of REI information. If you have any tips, I would greatly appreciate all of them.

Thank you,

Evan

Hi Evan, welcome to BP and it's cool to see another person from White Plains. I am an agent in White Plains and would be willing to you help you out in anyway possible. It seems as if you are looking to wholesale to begin and you would be surprised what "no money" can get you.

Feel free to pm me.
