Hello Everybody! Currently, I work as a Construction Manager for a home improvement company. I have a very stable career, and a great family life. However, I have always wanted to be my own boss, and real estate investing does not seem that far off from where I am now. I caught the real estate bug several years ago when me and my wife purchased our first home. After just a couple of years living in it, we performed a quick rehab ourselves, put it on the market, and sold it faster than we planned. I was hooked! Currently, we are in our second purchased house, and have accumulated a good amount of equity again. I truly believe that real estate can be the perfect vehicle for me to build wealth for my family, and I intend to learn everything I can about it.

I am new to BiggerPockets, and I am looking to network with like minded individuals. Hopefully, they will help me avoid major pitfalls along the way. I am primarily interested in single family fix and flips, but I do also want to purchase buy and hold properties to help build my portfolio. I believe that assembling the right team will be crucial to my success, and I absolutely appreciate good people. In my current job position making sure projects get completed on time and on budget is my main goal. I do have a couple of trusted contractors that work for me. However, I do understand the need for back up plans. I am looking for a good real estate investor agent, and also a good lender(private or hard money). I would also love to find a local investor to help mentor me. I am not afraid to do some work in exchange for their knowledge.

I am glad to have found the BiggerPockets forums, and I look forward to soaking up all of the knowledge that I possibly can.

@Tim MacyThanks for the welcoming! I appreciate the advice as well. I'm looking to put together a team of local specialists. If we all know our specialty, and everyone does what they say they are going to do, things work out beautifully for everyone. I have been to several of the "pay for mentor" pitches, and haven't been impressed enough to pay for them. It seems as if I can get all of the info through my own research or through Bigger Pockets. I do see how they could be of benefit to some though.  I appreciate your incite, and I suspect we will be talking more in the near future.
