Newbie Real Estate Investor, NY

Greetings all,

My name is Tyisha. I am so excited to be a part of the BiggerPockets network and learning more about RE investing. I am fairly new to investing but I am eager to grow and get started. I am interested in buy and hold and wholesaling. My initial focus is single family homes and small multifamily (duplex, triplex, & quad). My goals are more financial security, increased freedom, asset building, and helping others. And ultimately continuing to grow my financial education and awareness (including but not limited to real estate).

I am from Long Island New York and it is a beautiful place but from my initial looks, costs for ownership is quite high. Yet, I am sure (as it has been told to me), "deals are everywhere". Hopefully I will find this true.

I have always had an interest in real estate for several years but I never quite knew how to pursue it. Well, after reading Rich Dad, Poor Dad (true story), I was inspired and figured out more about getting into it. I stumbled on BiggerPockets after a current member recommended I check it out and sign up instead of attending countless seminars for education. Well, I am so glad I did.

Looking forward to more of the real estate journey.

Be Blessed!
