Hello from Boise, ID

Well I've been lurking around these message boards long enough, time to come out and introduce myself. I'm Mark, I live in Boise, ID and I'm new to investing. My wife and I are looking for our first house together (in the Boise area) and we'd like to use some principals of REI to make sure our home is a good investment. Once we're settled there we'd like to expand more into rental properties or flipping.

You've all been a great helps already, so thanks!  I'm looking forward to diving in fully!

@Walker Seid We're looking all over, a bit.  Our preferred areas is NW Boise - North of State Street, but as we've found very little there in our price range we've expanded our search to include the bench, southeast, south boise & even a bit of Meridian.

@Linval T. Thanks for all the material.  I've been lurking for awhile (he says with embarrassment) so I've seen most of those things.  Also a big fan of the podcast.  I still have a lot to learn though, of course.  Right now the topics I'm studying are: Direct Marketing, Market Research, and how to incorporate appreciation into estimates.
