Hello, I just joined. I am Dave E. from the chicagoland, IL area. I am 25 and after reading about 15 books so far on real estate I am convinced that RE is for me and will help me acheive my goal of becoming financially free.

I just got licensed in IL, and currently working as a Electrician and part time in RE. I work for a company that does Residnetial, Commercial, and investments.

I am hoping the RE job will give me experience to help me succeed off the job investing as well.

If anyone has any tips or ideas on how to best start out investing, please let me know.

My plan is to buy a single family, and rehab, then put the profits into a multi unit, 3-4 units, and keep on going.

The thing I am undecided on right now is wether I would want to keep a single family as a rental is the deal was right.. or if were better if I was to sell and 1031 into a multi?

Thanks and hope to talk to everyone and learn more about RE.
