REI Newbie from Alpharetta (Atlanta metro area)

I'm a REI newbie from Alpharetta area and am active looking for an opportunity to get into REI.

My goal is to start out with buying 1 Apt/Condo in Atlanta metro area and then scale further in coming years. My wife (IT architect) & I (Mgmt Consultant) work full time (& intend to continue to do so) and have decent savings/emergency funds and think RE would be the best to park long term savings bcoz 1) Generate additional income in long run 2)take advantage of tax deductions (depreciation etc..) 3) Long term financial security.

I am looking for a Realtor who specializes in REI properties.

Last but not the least, BP has vast amount of invaluable information available that I am trying to sniff thru, and also looking forward to contributions from the BP forum veterans. And would love to be part of any networking opportunities.

@Rick Baggenstoss Thanks for your advice ! So far i have been looking only at  400 - 500 $ /month cash flow. Guess my next one would be a MF. I saw some of the excel sheets calculations for multi families here in BP and my head hurts :)
