New House Hackers from Hudson, WI

Hello Bigger Pockets community, from Hudson, WI! My wife Bethany and I are excited to begin our new chapter in life and to build what we see as the vessel that will fund an early and independent retirement. We have recently moved from Wausau, WI to be closer to my work. I am a pilot based out of the Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport and Bethany will soon be a stay at home mom along with managing our assets. The drive to work provides me time to listen to the podcasts and I have learned so much. It has also encouraged me to get on here and introduce my wife and myself! Our current game plan is to buy and hold multi-family properties. We are interested in the house hacking method as we are currently renting and would prefer not to pay someone else’s mortgage. We are not sure where the future may take us in regards to a permanent home location but we would like to get a feel for what being a landlord is all about. We are seeking multi-family, duplex, tri-plex buildings in the Hudson, River Falls, Somerset, New Richmond area of western Wisconsin for an owner occupied situation. We are seeking others who have experiences with this type of lifestyle, references for lawyers, accountants, handymen, contractors, etc within western, WI, St. Paul, MN, or Minneapolis, MN areas. We are also not afraid to get dirty if you need any help swinging a hammer or Bethany is well versed in QuickBooks and print marketing if you need a helping hand.
