Newbie Investor from NY

Hi Everyone!

I am a newbie investor from Long Island, NY and am interested in investing in Baltimore.  (I messed up on the profile and cant change my location from Baltimore to NY - - working on that)

I work full-time as a Recruiter and plan to become a buy & hold investor part-time (ha!).  I have just become an empty-nester and now have free time that I haven't had in 18 years which I plan to use purchasing, rehabbing & renting properties. I plan to invest at the lower end of the market and rent to tenants who receive section8 assistance.  Good thing I have time, right? I am always looking for a "double bottom line" so want to provide good options for affordable housing to low-income families and believe I can generate a profit doing it.

I have some familiarity with Baltimore, have several friends who live there and am working to learn a lot more. I appreciate any insights/guidance the BP community can offer.

I look forward to connecting, learning & hopefully partnering with some good folks eventually!

Andrea

@Andrea Henderson

Hi! Welcome to BP! I, too, am at the next phase of my life (nearly empty-nest) and have the same intentions that you expressed. Good luck to you and let's keep in touch.
