Hello,  My name is Michael Heslop and I am just starting out in real estate.  I have been researching ways to begin in real estate and I am currently interested in getting started with a multi-family home.  I live in northern Utah and can't wait to learn more about multi-family homes.  Any good places to start learning about Multi-family homes?

Thank you bigger pockets

Michael, welcome to Bigger Pockets, it's a great site.  I'm down in Provo, and I'm also interested in the multi-family area.  The podcasts are a great way to go to learn more.  If you're looking at larger multi-family then podcast 52 with Ken McElroy is awesome.  Podcast 4 with Frank Gallinelli is also great for all things commercial.

Starting with 2-4 units is a great place to start and that's discussed in a lot of the podcasts.  Unfortunately Utah is a pretty rough place to get good cash flow on the small multi-family.  If you look further north around Ogden you might be able to find something that makes sense, but it will likely be older.

Best wishes!
