Hi All,

I've been a silent observer and religious Podcast listener on Bigger Pockets for about a month now and decided its finally time to introduce myself. I'm a newbie investor from the central MA area. I currently own an owner two family property in Clinton, MA. I've run the numbers using a lot of your advice and I know that as soon as I can move out of the property and get both units rented it will cash-flow. However, its still pretty nice having my tenants pay my mortgage! My girlfriend and I hope to purchase another Multi-family in the next 8 months. I'm extremely passionate about Real-estate investing and want to learn more. Are there nearby groups or associations I can join to learn more and network with other investors?

Nice to meet you all!

Mike

Hi Mike, welcome to BP.

This is a great place to learn. Make sure to listen to all the BP podcasts, read the articles on the main blog and be active in these forums to learn a ton very quickly about any topic in real estate you want to know more about.

This is also a great place to meet people that can be assets to your business. Lots of great connections all over but we also have a very strong and active contingent here in MA on here so make sure to find them (Set up some keyword alerts to find out about local topics) and get connected.

Besides doing that on here make sure to get out to some of the many local investor events we have.  Ann already gave you excellent advice on this topic, and pretty much gave all the ones I would have recommended.  If you want to try out more there are several both north and south of Boston beyond the ones she mentioned (Including a 2nd meeting of Black Diamond in Waltham that has a different topic than the Worcester meeting and not a ton of overlap in attendance so worth going to for the additional networking opportunities).  The one additional one I’ll specifically mention is a good quarterly meetup in Woburn that is next Wednesday.  It is hosted by @Justin Silverio and the first several have been excellent.
