Hello to all! My name is John, and I live in Mount Airy, Maryland. I have been an Investor since 1997, and have also been a Mortgage Broker for 10 years as well.

My Wife and I have done rehab's here in Maryland as well as in Texas (her home state, used to do Winter deals there). Lost my shirt in the Downturn in 2008-09. (Got stuck holding the bag, so to speak).

Anyway, we are ready to start at it again, and found this site this morning.

Hoping to connect with others here in Maryland and Southern Pennsylvania as well.

@John Lopes welcome to the wonderful RE site known as Bigger Pockets. Set up keyword searches and check out some local REIAs. Brian Beard (I believe) runs the Hagerstown REIA. There are also REIAs in Towson (Baltimore REIA), Owings Mills (MAREIA). . . .and Meetups as well. Google Baltimore/washington and The Real Deal Meetups. GREAT info that successful local investors attend and a good healthy newbie base learning there too and the Meetups I mention here are free.

Lived in the historic area of Frederick for 8 years. Miss that area up there by you.
