Newbie in Shreveport/Bossier, LA

Hello BP,

My name is JD Monroe. I am in the Air Force and currently stationed in the Shreveport/Bossier area. I have very little Real Estate experience, but I’m willing to learn! My plan is to buy and hold SF and 2-4 unit multifamily homes around Air Force installations and target military renters, with a goal of trading up to a small apartment complex after a few years. I am in the learning phase of REI.

The biggest issue/character flaw I will have to overcome, in order to be successful, is moving from analysis to action. I spend a lot of time on “the plan” and sometimes this prevents me from taking the next step. “When do I know enough to minimize risk?”

I look forward to becoming a member of this community and learning along the way!

@JD Monroe Welcome to BP. Much like you, I am new to BP too. In this short time, I have learned a lot from the information on the website. I have also been listening to the excellent Podcasts on my iPhone while I take a walk. This is a great community to learn from and share with.

@Michael Faulk is from the Shreveport/Bossier area too and he is putting together a meetup with some of the BP members in our area. Please contact him if you are interested in attending the meeting. I will be out of town for this meeting, but I hope to join the group at a later date. This will be an excellent place for us to put our forces together.
