New Member from Austin, TX – Excited to Begin My Real Estate Journey

Hi BiggerPockets Community,

I’m excited to join this amazing platform after reading about it in House Hacking Strategies. I joined BiggerPockets back in October, but I’ve been a little shy about jumping in. Now, I’m ready and eager to meet new people and make the most of this incredible community.

A little about me: I'm originally from Tulsa, OK, but relocated to Austin, TX, four years ago. I'm new to real estate investing and hope to purchase my first property within the next year. My goal is to start with a house hack on either a single-family property with an ADU, a duplex, or a quad. I plan to live in the smallest unit and rent out the rest. I'm looking to take advantage of an FHA loan and the 2-out-of-5-year rule for my first investment. After two years, if everything is going well, I might explore the BRRRR method.

For now, I’m focusing on the Austin market, but I’m open to exploring other markets in the future. I’d love to connect with local real estate agents, lenders, and contractors who can help me navigate this journey.

I’m continuing to educate myself on finding, analyzing, and financing deals, and I’m excited to hear any advice or recommendations the community has to offer.

Thank you for reading, and I look forward to connecting with many of you!

Best regards,

Timothy
