But to add, If you hold for at least two years before selling (and still qualify under the primary residence exemption), you might avoid capital gains taxes. If not, consider a 1031 exchange when you sell to defer taxes on profits.

Texas is a great market, Id hold that property for as long as you can!

Have you researched what it takes to successfully complete a fix-and-flip? Are you planning to manage the project yourself?

Take the time to write down a clear succession plan, define your investment goals, and outline what you want to achieve.

From there, establish a budget and determine how much time you can realistically dedicate to completing repairs and renovations.

Once you have a solid plan in place, secure financing and assemble a reliable, licensed, and bonded team you can trust to handle the rehab of your asset.
