Southern Wisconsin newbie

Hello everyone.

My name is Jeanne Throgmorton. I intend to invest in a single family home this year, although I haven't decided yet whether to flip or hold. Either way I'm looking forward using some power tools and elbow grease. At least for the first one or two.

First I'll get the excuses for why I haven't started earlier out of the way - fear, family member illness, unsure where to start and lack of money. All of those things still apply somewhat, but it's time to do it anyway.

Before I got out of real estate 12 years ago, I'd worked in various capacities of property management from office manager of private student housing to resident managing low income rural apartments for 7 years. I was a realtor for several years as well as a bookkeeper for a real estate attorney's small timeshare development.

More recently I assisted a couple family members rent out their homes. Now I want to work on my own in the southern Wisconsin area in smaller towns.

Thank you for all the information I've learned here already and what I'm sure I'll learn in the future.
