Greetings friends, comrades, and associates. My name is Jeff Miller and I am an investor operating in the Shreveport / Bossier City Louisiana market. My day job is a software / web application developer but my dream has always been with Real Estate with the goal of acquiring enough rental units to ultimately retire. I don't care for stocks as its far too derivative.

I started renting in late 2008 and am presently only renting 2 SFRs. I really wanted to step my game up in the business so I sought out avenues to attempt to keep my thoughts focused on real estate. The BiggerPockets.com community have been doing wonders in this regard - especially with the podcasts and articles.

My new goal regarding asset classes is to branch out into multifamily units for the extended control of value and economies of scale of expenses that this asset class affords. However, my primary goal at the moment is to get to know more people in this business and make some friends as I haven't devoted much time in this aspect and it is probably the most important. So drop me a line - especially if you're in the surrounding area.

Cheers to a successful 2014 and beyond fellow investors!

Greetings @Jeff M. !!! Great to hear someone else from the Bossier City area getting involved with BP. I can't say enough about the awesome people that are on the site trying to help fellow investors. I have found a few people in our area through BP but I am fascinated to meet new people with similar goals/aspirations as myself especially in my local market. As you are I am working a full-time job investing nights/weekends to build my rental portfolio currently have 3 SFRs that are occupied and rehabbing a duplex in the Waller area at the moment. If I can be of assistance in any way please don't hesitate to ask. Soak in as much information as you possibly can here at BP!

As you can see from @Joshua Dorkin post above-stay active on the site and be involved. I have found it amazing that from the founder of Bigger Pockets to seasoned investors to newbies... everyone across the board is here with a similar purpose, are willing to answer questions and genuinely want to help others succeed.

I could speak all day long about BP but explore and check it out for yourself. Listen to the pod casts, read the ultimate beginners guide, read the forums... and the list goes on. I strongly believe that if you become engaged in any way shape or form in this community that you can you will be hooked.

Enough rambling... Welcome and I am glad to have another resident of my area here. Good luck and keep everyone posted on your success!!!

Michael
