New Investor starting with no financial support

Posted

Hey community! I am a relatively new investor, only 7 months into this journey. Currently have 1 SFH that is a rental and just purchased a primary residence that I will house hack until I have enough funds or equity to look for another property. I am brand new to not only investing in real-estate but also to trying to become financially independent. I work a full time W2 job as well as part time 1099 job. I come from a family that didn't have the best understanding of finances and I am trying to be the one to change that. I have started with all of my own funds with no financial support. Both of my parents have helped with some projects when it comes to labor but financially is myself and the lender that has been amazing through the purchase of both properties.

So any and all advice is appreciated. I have been digging into to podcasts as well as looking to sign up for a webinar here soon outside of the free ones offered all the time. Looking forward to not only learning from every one but also making connections to learn even more. Thank you all for your time.

@Tyeler Mazey

Starting in real estate at a young age can be a great journey. To win, think about spending money on good resources, reading books by top investors, and finding a mentor. Use house hacking to save on rent and grow your wealth. Try out the BRRRR (Buy, Rehab, Rent, Refinance) plan to grow your list of homes fast. Set SMART goals, make friends with other investors, talk to a money advisor, stay calm and steady, and break the money cycle. Use places like BiggerPockets Real Estate Forums and join local REIA groups to learn and meet new people. Remember that this is a marathon, not a sprint, and celebrate milestones along the way.

Good luck!

 Thanks Caleb! I am hoping to at least start that process and hope that if/when I find someone to share my life with and have kids (God willing) that I will be able to pass off the knowledge and legacy to them and hope that they will continue to make it grow.
