Just joined the community and wanted to say high and get your thoughts on my investment strategy. I've been around the REI space long enough to know it goes against conventional wisdom so I'm genuinely interested in your thoughts:

My wife and I have been working on paying off debt and have paid off over $200k in the past 6 years. We're a few months from paying off our home and will begin saving to purchase free and clear rentals. Currently we can save around $70k/yr towards this. Some basic modeling I've done shows that we could have 12 paid for properties in 12 years generating ~$125k a year.

Welcome to BiggerPockets @Account Closed! It's so awesome to hear that you're almost done digging yourself out of debt. I know it takes a lot of discipline and planning! It's even better to hear that you're snowballing the money you put towards paying off your debt towards your investments.

I think you're strategy is a great one, even though I'm on the leverage bandwagon as far as investing goes. You can use the search tool on the top right corner to look up some good topics on leverage vs free & clear :)

Glad to have you here!
