Shoul I sell or rent my home?

Al Hernandez
Posted

Question? Debating if we should sell or rent our old home. We can rent for approximately $3800-4000. Our current mortgage is $2500 and $180 for HOA. Property in CA in very good rental market. Owe 345k and worth 750k-805k. Sale of home would net us 300k+. Would not have to pay capital gains since property qualifies as primary residence and we married. We own some rentals already. Not sure if we should keep and rent or sell and invest profit. Any suggestions? WWUD? Your insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hey Al Hernandez,

Accounting for expenses, it looks like you will be breaking even on that property, which could be a great thing depending on where you are in Cali. With around $300k in equity though, that capitol will likely be better invested elsewhere.
